Reach & Clean Sea in the Cyclades and beyond

The Cycladic islands and their marine waters are unique ecosystems that we should preserve and protect. Endangered species find shelter in the hospitable seabed, which is characterized by its abundant life: the sea turtle Caretta caretta, the common dolphin Delphinus delphis, the seal Monachus monachus.
The marine fauna of the Cyclades is exceptionally rich, including more than 200 species of fish, while marine flora, such as the Posidonia oceanica, should also be safeguard as it is imperative for marine ecosystem balance.

We wish to see a reduction in the pressures that the marine ecosystem is receiving. We seek and support bottom-up efforts to efficiently protect the marine environment by preventing or restoring damage and by proposing new ways to balance environmental protection and local livelihoods. We also support Cycladic-wide awareness raising, capacity building and citizen-science campaigns and initiatives to increase understanding and
knowledge about environmentally friendly practices that we can adopt as citizens, as consumers and as professionals, to protect the marine ecosystem.
