Joining forces with the Plastic Free Greece team makes us feel proud and empowered to offer the locals more tools to effect change in their schools and communities. For the academic years 2018-2019 & 2019-2020, the CPF will fund the renewal of the distribution rights of A PLASTIC OCEAN and the subtitles and distribution rights of BLUE THE FILM, two great documentaries focusing on plastic pollution and marine conservation, to be presented in schools across Cyclades. Additionally, we will directly encourage individuals on the ground to clean up and ‘adopt’ beaches on the Cyclades by placing poster boards on popular beaches.
Quote by Dimitra Koutsoukos, representing Plastic Free Greece
‘While there are many challenges ahead, our task is to educate as many people as possible. All our activities would not have been possible without the financial support of like-minded individuals and organisations. Plastic Free Greece has no political affiliation and depends on private donations.
We are very grateful for the support of the Cyclades Preservation Fund. Your contribution this year has secured the distribution rights to “A Plastic Ocean” for an additional scholastic year (which we estimate will be viewed by about 100 – 250 students in the Cyclades and 7,000 – 20,000 students across Greece) and for the rights of two additional documentaries for the coming terms.
With your support we were also able this past summer to print and place clean up boards on many Cycladic beaches, which encouraged beach visitors to a #2minutebeachclean whenever possible in order to keep our #plasticfreeCyclades as beautiful as they are meant to be.
We look forward to working closely with you in achieving our common goals in the years to come!’
