On the 28-30th of April 2026, at the French Institute of Athens, the Greek Islands Seagrass Alliance (GISA) is organising the first Greek Seagrass Forum: An open call for participation and discussion with the Greek state, along with research institutions, environmental organisations, foundations, and local authorities, as well as businesses directly connected or active in research, protection, financing, or management of Posidonia and other seagrasses in Greece. The Forum’s objective is to function as a platform for the exchange of information and networking with the prospect of capturing and highlighting the key actions taking place in Greece along with good practices from the Mediterranean, to underpin institutional proposals and explore possibilities for better coordination between involved bodies, in order to strengthen the collective impact for effective preservation of the valuable but vulnerable seagrass meadows of our country.
