  • Location: Home/remote working, available to attend team meetings and events; based in Attica or on one of the Aegean islands. Regular travel required.

  • Line manager: CPF Executive director. Liaising regularly with Program’s managers and the CPF Communications & Engagement Officer.

The role

Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) is seeking a highly motivated professional with previous working experience in Communication, Media and Marketing to join our family. The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative, collaborative marketing and communications specialist with experience in digital tools, social media, philanthropic marketing, blog writing, campaign design, execution and measurement.

As a small and mighty team, we seek a reliable media & marketing manager who is proactive, inspiring and can engage audiences with meaningful messaging in support of our charitable objectives and environmental values.  We are positive, creative, and ‘hands-on’, and we hope you are too! 

You will drive engagement mainly for two of CPF’s Flagship Marine Conservation Programs, while supporting and aligning with the organization’s overall media and marketing needs, including connecting with journalists, corporate marketing experts, artists, local allies, strategic partners and individual donors. Furthermore, you will need to conduct research and market analysis to identify communication opportunities and target audiences, monitor and analyze media coverage and fundraising success to adjust our communication and marketing strategies. Alongside setting the strategic direction, you will be actively involved in executing day-to-day communications tasks, from content creation, social media updates, PR and planning of awareness raising campaigns, to media engagement, digital marketing, events management, ensuring our messaging is impactful and consistent across all platforms and audiences.

Are you in?

Required qualifications 

  • At least 5 years of experience in Communications, Professional Events and Digital Marketing.
  • University Degree in Media or Marketing and up-to-date Digital Marketing certifications.
  • Professional English and Greek (spoken and written) with proven experience. 
  • Digital & onsite events organization.
  • Media relations.
  • Prior experience of social media professional management.
  • Comfortable with using (or learning to use) MS Office suite, Google Workspace, Canva, WordPress, Slack, Mailchimp.
  • Excellent public relations, presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience of marketing for fundraising campaigns.
  • Adaptability, quick learning ability, and competence in managing multiple projects while demonstrating attention to detail, and a team spirit.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow guidelines, lead initiatives, manage time effectively, meet deadlines and accomplish goals, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Be confident working remotely as part of a small team and travel regularly.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues and experience in communications abroad.
  • Experience working with NGOs and familiarity with their operational environment.
  • Voluntary participation in environmental activities or other related initiatives.
  • A valid driver’s licence would be desirable.

The Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) is a not-for-profit Association established in late 2017 to support sustainable initiatives and to promote the preservation of the exceptional beauty and natural value of the Cyclades and Aegean islands, Greece. The cornerstone of our mission is the empowerment of local communities, backed up by investment in the local environment and education of visitors, local businesses and residents about how they can preserve the natural environment by making the right choices when it matters the most. We raise funds from individuals, corporates, and international foundations to support conservation projects led by local entities, as well as to run conservation programs, campaigns and educational activities.  

The CPF is a member of the Conservation Collective (CC),  a global network of 21 local foundations funding effective grass-roots conservation initiatives to protect the environment, restore nature and safeguard against climate change.
