To address the limited awareness about waste issues, water quality, and the consequences of waste on human and animal life on the island of Andros, it’s essential to implement dedicated initiatives, including research, campaigns, raising awareness, waste reduction and educational projects.

The project deliverables included data research, informative campaigns encouraging sustainable practices and policy recommendations, aiming to transform Andros into a sustainable tourism destination.
About the Grantee
Andros Research Centre aims to conduct research, record and revive local culture and heritage of Andros, to protect the environment, as well as to support and encourage sustainable tourism locally. The Centre’s volunteers have restored, marked and sign posted about 240 km of hiking routes, according to European standards, establishing Andros as one of the leading quality destinations for hiking (https://www.androsroutes.gr/marvellous_andros/).
