We are pleased to announce that the CPF has joined an international island coalition aiming to reduce and eliminate the single-use plastic products from the tourism industry. We have already submitted our joint proposal to potential funding mechanisms, including international big foundations and we will be prepared for the EU Life grants.
Depending on available funding, our goals will be achieved by means of ourcoalition of Posidonia Green Project located in Spain and Italy, Ibiza Preservation and Save the Med in Spain and along with the Ecological Recycling Society in Greece. This pilot project will be performed on Mediterranean islands located in the South of Europe particularly: San Pietro island (Italy), Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera (Spain) and Santorini (Greece); the involvement of potential other islands of the Mediterranean area will be considered. The areas of work have been selected on the basis of existing experiences as well as existing local strategies in improving the waste management and the reduction of plastic waste by the local authorities.
