Sustainability: contributing to the long-term preservation of the Cycladic ecosystem.

The challenges faced by islands, including those in the Cyclades, regarding sustainable infrastructure and consumer practices are significant. Limited resources, especially in terms of water and energy, coupled with waste management issues, pose considerable pressure on both the environment and local communities.

The Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) supports local initiatives that promote a model for local development that aligns with the capacity of the islands and implements circular approaches: by adopting sustainable practices and encouraging mild tourism, we help reduce the strain on resources and minimize the environmental footprint, thus preserving the natural beauty of our islands. CPF also supports initiatives that bridge knowledge gaps and promote collaboration between islands which is essential for sharing best practices and fostering continuous improvement. By empowering local communities and visitors with information about sustainable practices and available infrastructure, we help promote responsible behavior and contribute to the long-term preservation of the Cycladic ecosystem.
