The world consumes over 300 million tonnes of plastic each year. But when did we start using plastic? And why? Where does all the plastic waste go? Journey through the life cycle of plastic – how plastics are produced and recycled, the many uses of plastics throughout the last century, how our plastic use and pollution has spiralled out of control, and what we can do about it.
We are SO happy to finally have our new book ‘PLASTIC: in our lives, in our environment‘ available for the kids, their parents and teachers in Greek. The book has been translated from the original ‘Plastic: past-present-future’ written by Eun-ju-Kim.
Many thanks to Nefeli Publishing for doing an amazing work.
When covid-19 allows us to visit the schools, our partner OPUS Culture will present the fantastic educational program ‘Me & my Plastic’ inspired and based on our book, to as many Primary Cycladic schools as possible, whilst we will send copies to all the school libraries of the region.
In the meanwhile, we have started providing some e-content with proposed educational activities on social media while we will follow closely the development of the available e-learning platforms as a mean to implement the project in case the physical presence in the schools in not feasible even in the next school year.
You can find and purchase our book in all the e-shops of the central bookstores or ORDER directly to the CPF for 14.40€ + shipping cost (pls write to marianna@cycladespreservationfund.org how many copies you would like and your address).
Remember, this is for a good cause as part of the revenues from your purchase will support the promotion of our ‘Me & my Plastic’ education program to the schools of the Cyclades and more kids will be educated and inspired to reduce, rethink, reuse and recycle plastic!
